Hey all!
I hope everyone is having a fabulous Friday and thankful that it is FINALLY the weekend!
A lot of you may not know but today is my 24th Birthday...boy do I feel old?! 24 years on this Earth and I still don't know how I've made it this far but blessed that I have. With so many new and exciting things happening in my life sometimes I forget to press the pause button and really look at how lucky I am to have the life I have. I've come so far when it comes to my educational goals and overcoming my mental health struggles as well. I've had to really look at myself and tell my inner thoughts that my life is great. I not only have an exceptional support system but I have a roof over my head, an amazing boyfriend, and lot's of other things I could go on about. 24 years and this year is where I do the most reflection and make the most change in my life.
The most change I look forward to is becoming more inspirational and creative within my life in which is why this blog was born. To become something I've always wanted to become or be like and hopefully this creativity and inspiration will make some kind of change in someone's life.
However, for this particular post...I want to share a very special and close-to-heart organization that means a lot to me. This organization is the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and is one of the most successful non-profit organizations when it comes to advocating for mental health and preventing suicide statistics from rising. However, even though there has been a ton of research done; suicide is still the 10th cause for death in the United States. Additonally, COVID-19 has not helped reduce that statistic either which causes for more people to advocate and donate for research. This organization has SO many initiatives and ways that we can help and learn about the mental health community...even more!
That is why I'm choosing this organization to donate for my Birthday and I hope you all can make an effort to do so too because this could save not only an adult life but a child's life as well which is super important to me. Weather it is a $1 or $100...every amount counts!
