Hey all!
On Saturday my boyfriend, his friend, myself, and Zaeven went to the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC and it was truly awesome (more so for us than him LOL). This was an actual zoo and not one of those fake animal farm zoos or one that abuses their animals. Not only did this zoo have PLENTY of space for these precious babies but you could tell they were cared for and not just looked at like another money-making revenue. It had rhinos, giraffes, gorillas, zebras, several different types of monkeys, sealions and many more different types of animals that you might not normally get at a zoo. But let me tell ya, I WAS SWEATING BULLETS. It was so hot and humid not even the animals wanted to move; most of them were just lying in the shade or dunking themselves in the water in their exhibit which I can't say that I blame them.
We were all sweating really but we still enjoyed ourselves...and when I mean WE I mean the adults; Zaeven was asleep pretty much the whole time until we got to the aquarium where he started screaming bloody murder because he got overheated and needed a diaper change. As Justin was changing him and he was screaming, I came prepared and brought another (and cooler) outfit just in case if he did get too hot. So, when Justin finished changing his diaper...I changed his outfit and looked over to see a mom with her babies and she had 2 fans on her stroller. I literally said to Justin, "That's what we need...is fans" and the lady looked over and said "Here, take this one. They have to enjoy the zoo too!" I looked at her like she was a guardian angel and said "THANK YOU SO MUCH! I really do appreciate that!" and gave us her fan. But guess what? Justin carried him the rest of the way and not soon after we left because we were all hungry LOL. I felt bad but now we have one for next time we go ANYWHERE that feels like we walked into the portal of hell.
We all still enjoyed ourselves and it was really nice to do something else for a change instead of stay at home and do nothing.
So, here are some pictures of Zaeven and then one of us as a family and of course I dressed him up Zoo style and we tried to too.
P.S. I would let you guys know where I got the fit but it was a gift soooo I can't.
P.S.S. The shoes were WAY too big for his tiny feet but it was part of the fit and I just wanted to get a picture of him wearing them. He later kicked them off ha-ha!
