Finding a Tattoo Artist

Writer's picture: Jordan MagyarJordan Magyar

Hey all,

I know it's been a while since I posted but the closer the due date the more hectic and nerves come so I've been focusing on getting everything together and the bags packed. But on the flip side I've been also thinking of my next tattoo which will be an arm sleeve on the left side. Due to moving and my previous tattoo artist moving; I'm in the need of a new artist and that process, for me, is long and annoying. I currently have 14 tattoos and it's been a while...well too long since I got a new one so now, I'm on the journey of finding a new artist that I can bond with and execute well. Finding a new tattoo artist is SO important weather it is your first or your 15th; that's why I'm going to let you all know my process and what I look for in an artist. It's so important to know and find an artist because that's the person you'll want to trust from there on out...to keep on going to.

It shouldn't be an easy process to find someone; especially for me because I'm super picky and I've watched plenty of episodes of Ink Master; so, I know what I like and what I expect and you all should to. So, really consider what you want in an artist, what you want on your body, what style, and asking yourself do I want quality or quantity? Quality meaning how technically and cleanly the tattoo is applied and quantity means how much you want to spend on a good quality tattoo or not spend a lot and get a bad and poorly applied tattoo...you'll know the difference.
